The painting depicts a scholar with musical instrument seated near river side, overlooking the river and surrounded by pine trees, artist colophon, signature and mark Huang Jun on the left side. 黃均（1914-2011年），號懋忱，祖籍臺灣淡水，福州候官縣台江聖王廟金墩街人，1914年7月6日生於北京。著名工筆人物畫家、美術教育家。黃均自幼酷愛繪畫。新中國成立後，黃均先後擔任中央美術學院講師、副教授、教授。| 款識：丁醜十月古閩懋忱黃均畫並識。| 鈐印：“黃均”、“懋忱”
