BLUE AND WHITE ‘FLOWERS’ EWER
明永樂 青花纏枝牡丹紋淨水瓶
Ming Dynasty period.
Of elegant baluster form, the blue and white vase depicts flowers and vines on the
body, with a long and straight spout stemming from the side at an angle, below the
evert rim, bottom hollow.
淨水瓶非日常使用之器，於宮廷中亦僅作禮器之用，惟可見於少數重大祭典場合，其造形
大異於當朝茶酒執壺，獨樹一格，歷代瓷器中罕有能與其聘美者。塑造如此獨特器形，窄
頸寬腹，又名軍持，為雲遊僧人、伊斯蘭教徒洗手盛水之用，自隋代傳入我國，各代均有
生產。此器束頸，起台口，腹部伸出一四棱長流，無柄、圈足。青花繪畫纏枝牡丹紋、卷
草紋、幾何紋等，青花發色豔麗，鏽斑明顯。
