PAIR OF WHITE JADE CARVED ORNAMENTS, HUANG
漢 白玉璜一對
Han Dynasty period.
The pair of jade ornaments each in flattened bridge form, the sides
carved with archaic raised bump patterns, the jade is of celadon-
yellowish color tone with russet.

玉料黃褐色，部分有灰白色沁斑。通體圓環形，遍體以谷紋作為紋飾，排列
規則，疏密有序。整體造型規整大方，包漿自然古樸，望之令人心醉。“以
玉作六器，以禮天地四方:以蒼璧禮天，以黃琮禮地，以青圭禮東方，以赤璋
禮南方，以白琥禮西方，以玄璜禮北方。” 二為國事中禮儀饋贈。三作佩
系，也作不同身份的標誌。

JADE CARVED RITUAL ORNAMENT, YUE
出脊玉鉞
The jade ritual ornament is of axe-head shape, with two sides jagged,
and two sides sharp, center with large hollow hole, the jade is of
reddish-orange color tone.

玉鉞玉質半透明。器上有紅褐色沁斑。整器體扁平，弧頂，刃部外弧，兩端
微上翹，器身兩側各有對稱突起的齒形裝飾，扉棱對稱，大小相同，由中部
向外分為三組，鉞是一種古代的武器，雖具備殺傷力，但是更多的是一些儀
衛所用，和實用武器不同。在西方權力象徵物是權杖，中國是鉞。
